Macauley Jones

The son of multiple Australian motorsport champion Brad Jones has racked up success, including the 2011 South Australian Rotax Light and three state junior karting titles.

That led to a drive in the Australia Formula Ford Championship in 2012, crowned Rookie of the Year and finishing fifth, then coming fourth the following year.

To start his 2014, Jones competed in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand, before stepping up to the Dunlop Super2 Series in Townsville, scoring a 10th place finish.

In 2015 he made his full-time debut in Super2, finishing 12th, and contested his maiden PIRTEK Enduro Cup debut with Dale Wood at BJR.

After finishing ninth in 2016, maiden podiums in Super2 came in ’17 on his way to seventh in the points, along with a victory in the non-points Bathurst 250km race.

He took another step forward on performance in 2018, losing a pair of likely victories at Townsville through mechanical failures and led at Bathurst until a last-lap tangle.

Armed with that experience, four Enduro Cups with BJR and four Supercars wildcard outings, Jones got his main game chance in 2019. BJR-run CoolDrive Racing Commodore vacated by REC owner Tim Blanchard at the end of 2018 and gave Jones the pathway to a full-time seat in the main game.

Jones is looking to build on his VASC foundation that was the ’19 season as he prepares to battle up towards the pointy end in 2020.
