In 2019 the newly named Penrite Racing squad will once again tackle the Supercars Championship season with speedster David Reynolds and young gun Anton de Pasquale both behind the wheel of ZB Commodores.
Erebus Motorsport continued its rise in Supercars in 2018 with David Reynolds and Anton De Pasquale.
After taking a maiden Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with Reynolds and Luke Youlden in 2017, Betty Klimenko’s outfit claimed a new best of fourth in the teams’ championship last year.
The Erebus team, owned by Betty Klimenko, entered the Supercars Championship with Mercedes E63 AMG vehicles in 2013 after purchasing the team from Stone Brothers Racing.
Initially running three cars for Lee Holdsworth, Tim Slade and Maro Engel, Erebus focused on development in 2013 before scaling back to a two-car operation with Holdsworth and Will Davison in 2014, Holdsworth delivering the team’s first race win at Winton.
Holdsworth was replaced by Ashley Walsh for the 2015 season while Davison remained with the team, winning a race at Barbagallo.
Erebus Motorsport underwent a major shake-up at the start of 2016, relocating to Melbourne and switching to Holden’s. Reynolds joined the team, while the second car was piloted by Aaren Russell, Craig Baird and Shae Davies over the course of the season.
The season ended on a high for the team with an unexpected podium finish at the Sydney 500 for Reynolds.
Stability and progress will be the main aims for this outfit heading into 2017 as the team looks to climb the Supercars ranks.
